A Canadian military base was holding an open day for the public, and one of the tents was the medics who instead of fixing people, were giving them real looking wounds. Duane had a replica of the dog wound he got when 5 years old and Brent got an arm wound...

...after 15-20 minutes of looking at his wound, Brent fainted (Duane couldn't see his) and here he is recovering against a garbage can.

Then we took a tour through Quebec and Canada's Maritime provinces. One town in Quebec had painted each fire hydrant as a different character. Of course Brent liked the bandit!

brent, Gloria & Duane after some local shopping.

Then in the Maritime provinces, we started getting fresh fish - which Brent is showing off.

On the Atlantic coast we found this 'steep' cliff which Brent' Duane & Tina (the dog) all proceeded to climb. We were all so impressed we'd done it - so maybe this inspired Brent to try again year later!

This was also our last family trip - Duane was becoming a troublesome teenager and so for next few summers they were shipped off to summer camp.

Back in Orillia (our home town) and here is Brent at Halloween with his pumpkin.

And then to Christmas...

...and hounding Gloria & Barry to allow us to open one early. Brent & Duane argued that since we had been around the world and in some countries they opened presents the night before, they should be able to as well. From then on they could open one the night before.
