1979 - Taking it Easy
Here is Brent in Australia getting even with Barry for something by sticking a BBQ fork in his bottom. Go Brent! (click the photo for more detail!)
For years Barry had talked about 'Puffing Billy' - the steam train here that runs near Melbourne, Australia where he grew up.
Barry was more existed than Brent & Duane but managed to coax them on the train for a photo.
Its blury because Barry's hands were shaking with excitement!
From Australia it to the last country - New Zealand where we visited a few friends
who had moved there. Here Brent sits on the sheep after herding them into this narrow area.
Later we watch the sheep being sheered and then in this photo Brent
watches the wool get sorted into different grades and bundled.
At this farm in new Zealand, Brent & Duane were told not to try and ride the horse. After
leaving Brent & Duane alone, Brent climbed on the back of a horse bareback and rode it
around. The hourses owners freaked as this was an un-ridable horse - but Brent seemed to have
no problem. Later they provided this horse with a sadle to ride 'safely'.
At this time, Brent had never ridden a horse before - he was only six and a half years old
at this point! As Tom Smith said on one of his photos of Brent - he's fearless!
After returning to Canada in February 1979 from the round-the-world trip, things were
pretty tame for a while. Here Brent learns to play a Baritone horn in the summer of 1979.
